Has anyone tried both of these? Which one works better for oily skin and that won't oxidize and won't look cakey. Are they both full coverage.

Thanks for the very helpful info Jacqueline H. Now what primer would you recomend on using with the Tarte foundation?

Personally I'm a fan of KVD. But I don't have oily skin either. More normal/dry. However, I'd grab some samples and try both and see what works best for you. I don't wear my KVD everyday, it's a full coverage and I only wear out to events or going out. I know a lot of people like the Estee double wear and it's a full coverage also in the same price range. Good luck. Finding a foundation that works for oneself is a challenge often.

I haven't tried the Kat Von D foundation but I love her concealer, and wasn't a fan of the Tarte foundation sadly. I still have a whole tube of it left. It wasn't awful but it didn't impress me much. It seemed to flake off after a while and even though it says its full coverage I had to work really hard to get that and I felt like it could look cakey in some places. The consistency is also not my favorite, it was pretty dry and seemed to dry before it was blended.
I use Urban Decay naked skin foundation and I love it. It has a light consistency but has really good coverage that still looks natural. I have oily skin and I don't really have any issues with it either. I use the Hourglass primer Jacqueline mentioned and I set it with a translucent powder from Nyx and I don't really have issues with oilyness except maybe in my T zone after a while. I'd definitely get samples of them and see how you like any/all of them before buying though. You could also check out Urban Decay's setting sprays. They have quite a few but for your skin I'd probably go with their All Nighter or De-Slick ones. They can help cut down on oil and make your makeup last longer/get rid of shine without having to cake on powder or blot anything.
