I need to start a work out routine but don't know where to start . What is your workout routine ex: 30 min cardio, 10 min abs etc. ? And how often do you workout ?

This application is for beauty tips, products and reviews. Not workout routines? I suggest you go to a website where you can ask questions based around this topic... Lol

It's funny how rude people can be. Beautylish is a site to discuss BEAUTY, not just makeup. When I was working out regularly it made such a difference in my skin!! I've been trying to get back into my grove but its so hard. My goal is to workout 4 times a week doing cardio for at least 20 min to start.

Jeez... Well Violett, I know that Beautylish does have it's own resident fitness expert, her name is Kit Rich and she's got a ton of articles posted on here-- just search the article section and you'll find a bunch of posts. Your workout routine should be tailored to what you'd like to achieve in the long run. Clearly I'm not an expert but I hope that helps a bit. Best of luck!

If you have a smartphone, I recommend the app Nike Training Club

Courtney is right, just search up workouts or something on the articles section and things should pop up!

Start with changing the way you eat, no more fast food, sugar, soda & especially those Starbucks frapp & blended drinks. Start drinking lots of water. This is what i do:
I drink 1 gallon of water daily, i eat alot of fruits & veggies, i watch my carb intake, i workout 5 days a week which consist of 45 minutes to 1 hour of cardio, i do at least 200 sit ups daily & lift weights for 15 minutes daily, last but not least, i stretch for 15 minutes after each work out. One more thing, if you smoke, make sure you quit.

Hey girls! I usually work out at home and I do the 8 min abs, buns and legs series. Those have always worked for me, and you can find them on youtube :)

I guess Danielle M is a newbie because I know that I've personally answered beauties on Beautylish wanting to up their fitness & diet game since my second home is the gym. Ms. Danielle your snide response was totally uncalled for and so not beautylish. @Violett J. kudos to you for wanting to get fit. My routine is extreme so I wouldn't even suggest it unless your long term goal is to become a figure competitor. Since you're just starting out I suggest starting small. Before you start doing more advance moves you'll need to get your endurance up. You can do that by starting with cardio...30 min on the treadmill or bike on mid speed. How often to workout....I suggest 5 days a week for at least an hour. I go 6x's but like I mentioned my goals are vastly different. I don't know if you plan on incorporating light weights but if you do just hit me up on here and I can assist you with that. Always be sure to eat a light meal that consist of protein 30 minutes prior to exercise. Protein aids in weight loss when exercise is involved. And staying well hydrated is also important . I could go on and on but I don't want to overwhelm you.

i've tried so many different kinds of workouts but i have to say what works best for MY BODY (everyone is diff so you're really going to have to just try diff things and see what's best for you) is pilates and yoga. i literally was in the best shape of my LIFE doing only pilates and yoga (and eating healthy too of course). i did it all at home with dvds. i highly recommend taking classes if you can afford it to make sure you're positioning right etc and so there are no injuries, but you can totally do it at home and get great results. i currently am going to a studio that offers pilates, yoga, and barre classes and i absolutely love it. i rarely do straight up cardio workouts, but again, that's because of what works for my body. you burn more fat at a resting metabolic rate when your body has a higher muscle content, so strength training of some kind is incredibly important. many people get caught up in cardio and let strength fall to the wayside. make sure you don't do that! it can be hard to sort through all the conflicting fitness info out there, because truly you can read total opposite fitness "facts" and you won't know what's what. that's another reason for trial and error, to see what works for you.
