Help with straightening irons!! 😰

I'm trying to curl my hair with my straightening iron and it will not work! I've seen just about every YouTube tutorial and I just can't get it to curl. My straightener iron is professional and supposedly great for curling hair, so obviously the problem is me. But I don't know what I'm doing wrong! Do you guys have any tips or tutorials that work for you?

Take a strand of hair and start from a little lower then the roots. Pull the straightener outwards away from your face then back in towards your face. Twisting the hand when comming back in towards your face. Its not easy at first. And start at a low heat especially since you haven't got the hang of it yet. Once you get the technique down it'll be easy. I have really thick hair and I ONLY curl it with a straightener. Goodluck :)
