Hi! I would love to hear some opinions/suggestions for an affordable compact digital camera to use for photographing makeup looks?
I've heard great things about the Canon Powershot Elph 330 HS (IXUS 255 HS here in Australia) for video recording, but haven't seen pics does anyone have this one in particular as well?

Cannon or a lumix dslr are really good cameras.

Compact? I say go with the Nikon 1 or Sony NEX cameras, these are compact mirrorless cameras, with interchangeable lenses, that preform just as good as Dslrs. Look up some test photos and videos using these cameras, I'm sure you'll fall in love.

I use a canon powershot and I loveee it. I don't think I have the one you're talking about though. Personally I absolutely hate Sony's products, in my opinion they can only make good tv's. I've had a few of their cameras and a laptop and they're all horrible quality. The camera's I've used from them would distort the image really badly and the colours weren't vibrant. I would recommend checking out Cannon or Nikon.

Shauna's right about cameras, Nikon and cannon are the best. It's really just a matter of which one feels easier to use for you.

Canon is the way to go. I'm a photography major and they are the only ones I will touch. the Canon powershots are all great for daily use. if you are looking for a very high quality camera get the t3i which is a dslr. Nikon is a decent second is quality But don't go near Sony or any other brands. they have poor quality.

Our Canon cameras outlived our Sony's. And their warranty service dept is top notch.

Canon and Nikon are the best!! I have used both and they basically have the same quality when it comes to photos. The only difference is how everything is set up on the camera. Like the buttons are is different places.
