Makeup pictures?! Help!

Okay so what I do, is I stand next to a window or in indirect light, and take a pic. I use my iPhone, and to get a picture of my eye I stand by the window and hold it super close. It usually turns out okay. This is this morning's picture :)

Hannah with the pretty eyes! And anyways, I'm still working on it myself.
Sooo what I learned so far:
-natural sunlight or a white light is best (indoor lighting is almost always yellow)
-tilt your head and smize (smile with your eyes)
-turn your camera horizontal with the lens side facing your outer corners of your eyes
-take a whole face pic and crop it
-you will almost always have to play with the photo composition because it comes out washed out most of the time

Olivia I have the same problem! Wood floors, an off pink carpet, and wooden paneling for our walls. Looks decent but terrible for pictures!
