You can get really inexpensive fake leather leggings. Don't go for the pinks and prepy looks. Try things like skulls and black. Band tees are always great! I love PAC sun also.

Spiked accessories and leather! Black and red together looks very edgy! Especially in tartan :) dr martens are also edgy but you said about not being able to afford many things so maybe a fake pair?

If you get doc martins make sure you wear only black laces as different coloured laces mean different things. For example white or red laces are a way for skinheads to signal to other skinheads that they are racist or a neo- Nazi. my friend (an anarchist punk) was just beat up for that mistake.

And btw, stop using the word edgy, sounds ridiculous. And don't dress like you are from a subculture (metal, goth, punk) if you don't actually listen to the music, or you will be labeled a poser :p.

Boots boots boots, bold patterned leggings, bits of leather (not to much, no more than one piece per outfit!)
