There are many tutorials on Youtube that will probably explain it better then I can! But I will still try :)
Basically you clamp the strand of hair, turn the straightener 360 degrees (I prefer going towards the face but whatever you feel comfortable with) until your ends are facing the ground and very slowly slide the straightener down. Then you just twirl it with your finger to get the curl shape back ;)

P.S. If you don't get your curls the first time just keep trying! It took me at least 5 times to get it right lol but that's just me.

I clamp the straightener turn it so my wrist is away from my face and slide down. YouTube shows it easier.
