I dyed my hair blond in the summer and it literally killed my hair. So I decided to do a protective hairstyle to make them grow faster and stronger. And I loved the result!
If you have any tips to share for damaged hair I'll be happy to read it :)

Jacqlyn anyone can do it :) seriously! A friend of mine (who is a white girl) did it a few days after I made my boxbraids done. And it looked really great on her.
I got them done professionnaly, went to an Afro-Caribean hair dresser. I wanted my braids to look beautiful and wanted to be sure they were done right. The only thing I did was buying the hair that was use for braiding. There's many many brands.. If my memory's good.. I bought X-pression hair! :)

Anyone can do it, as long as you're not stupid about it (and that's just me being blunt). I've seen white girls who try to take on and have a stereotypical 'black attitude' or think they're an honorary black girl because they have braids. As long as you don't do anything offensive, you're good. Also try and take care of them, as they're completely different from your regular hair and as such require different care, you've got two things to take care of:'the braids and your hair underneath. And if you spend the money braids can last as a good protective style for three months, as long as you properly care for them.
And yours look pretty Noemie! You've got the face for them.

Also, in some places they include hair in the price, you don't need the most expensive brand of hair if you have to buy it, a good braider can make just about anything, even yarn, look good.

I wore box braids & Havana twists for a whole year while transitioning & of course is give my real hair a break, but as long as you don't neglect your hair & keep it moisturized it will grow greatly :)

I'll probably do box braids again in a few days. Cause my curly/frizzy hair doesn't like the cold winter we have here in Paris! :( lol I moisturize and deep condition my hair but still! It is so dry! I think my hair needs to take some rest lol! Anyway I also wanted to start a Biotin treatment. I did some research and it is apparently very great for hair growth!
