Honestly what I find is make the makeup fit her personality.
With your sister in law find out where about her wedding will take place, the climate, the dress, the hair and the theme (in some cases). If your clients dress is big and bold and she wants dramatic makeup. Give her what she wants but make sure you focus more on the part on her face she loves her most. Her eyes or her lips.
Have your station set up an hour before you do her makeup. Because your family (I've did my sisters wedding makeup) there might be other jobs you will need to do.
Make sure you use natural light. Try your best to get her near a window where the natural light is beaming through.
And PLENTY OF TISSUS lol
