What's the difference between the two and where do you apply illuminators? how to use them esp for oily skin? TIA.

I guess they're similar but illuminators are more all over the face to create a natural looking glow where as a highlighter is used to emphasize certain features

Under or mixed with foundation or alone
when you say illuminator I picture the Nars one or even MACs Strobe cream and that's how I use those. They just create a light reflecting natural glow in the skin.
