Have y'all heard of the "no poo" or no shampoo hair thing? Instead of using shampoo and conditioner you use baking soda to wash and apple cider vinegar mixed with water to rinse. I heard it makes your hair healthier and shinier. Have any of you girls tried it? I was thinking about trying it soon.

Yeah it made my hair feel like straw and I hate the smell of vinegar so I just stick to good shampoo and conditioner

I have heard of apple cider vinegar as conditioner. Sounds legit. I'm sure it wouldn't hurt! I hate shampoo it dries my hair out so bad so I like this idea a lot.

LOVED IT! I stopped once I started to color my hair because it causes fading. I would highly recommend it. My hair was healthy, soft, and didn't get greasy as quickly!

I think I'm going to try it tonight! Thanks girls! Any tips on storing the stuff for the shower? Do you put them in shampoo like bottles or a spray bottle or what?

Never heard of it. Sounds like it would work, but I don't like the idea of walking around with my hair smelling like vinegar.

I haven't heard of it but I get the feeling that baking soda is way to strong for hair

It can be drying, so definitely use an oil on the ends of your hair after. I do this while trying to fade my hair color and it works wonders and makes your hair softer as long as you don't scrub with the baking soda. I'd try it out, it works 90% of the time. Just look up what recipes most people use. Don't just go by one person. :)

And yes, you don't smell the ACV at all once your hair is dry. But you could use coconut oil after and it'd smell better.

I did it tonight and I'm pleasantly surprised! Esp at how clean it is with just baking soda and it doesn't feel dry! There's no such thing as an overnight miracle, but I expect good things to come!

I've never heard of it, but I did read an article before (can't remember what it was) but it was saying that shampoo is very damaging on the hair and we should be using a cleansing conditioner like Amanda C said instead, so definitely try baking soda. If it works your saving your hair and money :)

I have been using this method for about 8 months now and I will never go back to using normal shampoo. I don't use the vinegar though I make my own conditioner with honey lime and sometimes I squeeze in some argan or vitamin capsules in there. if you're worried about smell use some essential pulsing n your rinse. also I only use the baking soda once a week and the other time I just rinse as it can leave your hair drug if it's used every time. also make sure to do a treatment once a week! again I use all natural products for those too. it has defined my curose that I never even knew I had gave me less frizzy, more shine and my hair has grown super fast and thick since I started so it's got a big thumbs up from me :)

That's awesome.
I haven't shampooed in almost 2-3 years? My shampoo is to clean my brushes lol!
I don't do the ACV/ baking soda thing, I don't do anything as for shampooing!
