So I used the oil free acne wash by neutrogena and it completely dried out my skin, especially my chin where I had some acne is now all as red as a tomato and extremely flaky and dry, what should I do?:( it looks horrible.

Try some oatmeal ( with honey if you can ) or some aloe Vera to help moisturize and soothe it and reduce redness.

Whenever my skin I really red I make a mask I honey (preferably raw and unrefined so that it has all the good enzymes) and green tea (just make tea as usual and cut open the tea bag)

It sounds like you have sensitive skin so maybe the salicylic acid is too irritating for you also too much moisturizer can make it worse. If your skin is flaky try using a flannel wash cloth and warm water to gently rub away the flakes

I agree with Kitty make a oatmeal mask you just need old fashioned oats and water into a paste

Some fresh aloe Vera will probably help if you can get your hands on some?

Did you use the regular cleanser in a pump bottle or the cream cleanser? I use the cream cleanser and it doesn't dry my skin out. Foamy bubbly face wash can do that to you.

When your skin is irritated its best not to put anything on it because it will irritate it. believe me I've reacted to dozens of different cleansers lol. do not start cleansing your face right away with a different cleanser. wash your face with cool water or you can also put a cold cloth on your face. also ice your face which will bring down the redness and any itchiness. I recommend putting a light layer of cold pure aloe Vera gel on your face to sooth the area.

I agree with Kitty. Oatmeal is the way to go to soothe the skin. And don't reach for any makeup in the time being.
