Hey ladies. have any of you worked for Mac before? I went there the other day and I was just blown away by how well done the employees makeup was. I just don't know how they get their skin to look so INCREDIBLY flawless.
just like Jaclyn hills skin. I don't understand how they achieve that...someone give me the secrets!
Also is working at Mac fun? what are requirements to get hired? pay levels?

Really? It must depend on which Mac you go to because every one that I've been to I'm always taken aback by how horrible and caked on their make up looks. I'm not a fan of Mac foundations to begin with but seeing how horrible it looks on the workers turns me off even more.

@brittani bummer! I'm sure some are really bad. I always see bad makeup at sephora haha. but the Mac store I go to they all do so well. the girl that rang me up had the most beautiful dewy makeup. I should have just asked her lol.

Thats funny bc I was in sephora the other day and every single worker had terribleee makeup, but their lighting was also super harsh so mine probably looked bad too 😮

I've been working freelance for 3 months now, tho I'm not on commission like @Gen
I will say that 70% of my coworkers, myself included, actually don't use mac foundations...
but I agree you do learn a lot working there, I sure have especially about the products, different techniques etc.
but mac employees are tested on their makeup skill, Sephora employees are not- unless you are applying for a makeup position- I agree I've seen some terrible makeup at Sephora.
But I've also seen girls told to fix there's or have it fixed by another mua at mac...

Lol I agree with brittani the mac store by me it looks like they all have cakey foundation on, but maybe its just the lighting. it must be awesome to work there with such talented people I would love to have an opportunity like that

Lol I think it's funny that I soo do agree on brittani and shauna, every time I go to Mac, the girls faces always looks caky or they have piles and piles of make-up on their skin. I personally don't like Mac foundation, but other than that, there products are nice.

MAC creates an oily face for most now just imagine having to be under those harsh department store lights your practically melting. Hence the cake face. They must do constant touch ups

@patricia I guess that explains why the workers always look like they're wearing masks. I'd be terrified of my skin breaking out with all that makeup on :-/
