I think Nars is better. I find they last longer without lipliner, and they have more interesting colors. That's just me though.

I like mac, I feel that it has more choices then nars when I go to stores. But it all depends on preferences.

Well I've only used one nars and I have quite a few mac but I've never tried to compare. The matte finishes to the mac lipsticks last for the longest though and I do love the mattes. Every finish has it's own formula and longevity so you should try them out yourself and see :) for now I'd go with mac, although Nars Dolce Vita and it's definitely a favorite of mine.

Nars is cruelty free, and I love the colors and finishes. Plus the limited editions are usually better or comparable quality to the permanent line, which from what I understand isn't always the case with Mac.

I love Nars lipsticks for a staple, but if I want to try just a weird color I'll buy a Mac. I'm not going to be wearing that purple Mac lipstick everyday like I would my Nars lipstick.

MAC. I own one nars lipstick and wouldn't purchase again.. Wasn't very pigmented. Plus MAC has a wider range of lipstick shades & formulas

I've never tried nars lipsticks, so I have to go with mac! I love their retro matte and matte lipsticks, it stays on my lips all day!

I say go with what you feel would be more comfortable for you as far as colors...that being said, go to Sephora, Ulta, MAC and play around with the brands and see how you like it before you spend money on it.

I've never tried Nars...and I do have one MAC lipstick and while I do like it...even though I've never tried Nars' they have a very good reputation and are very high end so even though I've never tried them I'd still say they're probably better lol. (Nars, not MAC lol. That seemed vague when I read it back so I'll clarify ha.) That probably doesn't count but there are also other brands lower on the spectrum than Nars that I'd consider better than MAC. A lot of the time with MAC people only like it because of the name. I think they do have some good stuff, like lipstick, but overall I usually feel like they could do a lot better. Nothing from them has ever WOWWED me enough to make me buy it except the lipstick, but even then, I think Urban Decay's is better. I only have one MAC lipstick and haven't been back for any more so I think it's safe to say I wasn't blown away lol.

Its a tough call as both lines have definite hits and misses. I prefer MAC's color range and I like NARS for the unique condensed color selection. I have lippies from both lines but always gravitate towards MAC when it comes to lip color when having to choose between the two when shopping my personal collection.

I don't own any NARS, have a lot of M.A.C though. I did however try a NARS matte the other day, in Montego Bay, omg love. It was so creamy but long lasting. Really a pretty neutral. Something I would like to go back for, it's on my list. Also to consider: M.A.C lipstick is generally 10$ less, so with the exception of this awesome nude I found I would lean towards getting my lippies from M.A.C.
