Need hair coloring advise!! please help.

Hey guys, I really want to dye my hair! Currently I just have My natural hair color which is dark brown. Thinking about adding blonde or red for a 2 toned hair style or something like an ombre. Well anyways I'm scared to dye it! I have thin hair and is needing advise on a good brand to use or something that won't fry my hair or damage it worse then what it is. please help I'm very bored with my hair! Needing a change.

I use revlon color silk and you can get it from walmart it's one of the cheapest brands and honestly I wish my hair looked like I just dyed it everyday because it makes your hair smell so good soo shiny and just looks so healthy and it claims to have something in it to make your hair healthier than before you dyed it it's my holy grail hair dye and it's only like $3 a box and I don't have to touch it up til my roots grow back in so it definitely lasts without so much fading.
