I'm highlighting my hair tomorrow at 10 AM. This is my natural hair color, it's never been dyed. How many shades lighter should it get?

I'd suggest you ask your stylist. Tell her "natural looking highlights," let her show you some colors, then decide. If she's good at her job, she'll pick the correct color. Only 1-3 shades lighter than your hair, really.

Sorry guys. here's a picture of my hair. but it's a shade or two darker now because of winter. should I have it dyed back to this color?
