People keep mentioning leave in conditioners and hair masks, which frankly, I have no money for. Could anyone give advice for changing my hair routine?
-I wash my hair around every other day, because I'm pretty active.
-I use Pantene or dove shampoo
-I use dove brand conditioner, which I massage into my hair, leave for a few minutes, then rinse out.
-I try not to blow dry/curl/straighten my hair, but I do it sometimes.
-my hair isn't as thick as it used to be, and it seems like a lot is falling out or there are split ends. Am I doing anything wrong?

Try not brushing your hair as much, and frankly thats all I do to!!, go for a trim at least once every 4 months.

Take a vitamin called biotin 2000-5000mg a day. this helps with hair loss, seems to work for me. All else sounds good.

Thats all I do exept I always choose the cheapest stuff..
But as Christina says try not brusing it to much..
Oh and a tip is to put the conditioner in from the nape of you neck or from your ears and to the ends leaving the scalp ontuched...Some says it can make you loose hair by putting conditioner in the scalpe.. I'm not sure about that, but I don't put it in the scalpe becauae it can make your hair oilier faster sometimes...
Hope I helped a bit and sorry if I'm kinda confusing..

Try and cut back on the Pantene. It tends to make a lot of peoples hair fall out.

Your hair routine depends on your hair type, if your hair is healthy then it's a good routine, someone with a different hair type would probably have a different routine that works for them. It all depends on your hair type :)

Don't you oil your hair at all? You haven't mentioned it...If I were you, I'd oil at least once a week.I had lovely hair but then I just stopped oiling and that was the death sentence for my hair.all came taking down.oils are not that expensive too.

Comb your hair instead of brushing it. when you brush your hair and you can hear that sound it makes thats your hair ripping and it will make it be frizzy.

Since you said you have no money for deep conditionig treatments, you could make your own. Mash up half of an avocado or banana, add a teaspoon each of honey and almond or olive oil. Put in your hair, mainly the ends. Leave in for 15-20 minutes. Rinse out in the shower, and shampoo and condition as normal.

I totally agree with Carly! ^ comb your hair instead of brushing it, when you get out of the shower! And use some oil for the ends of your hair before you brush it. I always do that when I get out of the shower. :) keeps the ends in good condition. Tresemé is a goofing hair brand.

Stop using pantene..its just not good for your, hair it has animal fat in it and it coats your hair making it feel soft..and it doesn't hurt to blowdry your hair..wash your hair with cold water it will help close the cuticle of your hair. I would recomend getting better products to really care for your hair. And yes if your slit end are bad cut them off or else they will keep slitting right up your hair shaft.

Oh ya I use to quickly rinse my hair with cold water and the end of my shower. Haha.
