Hey everyone so I got a clarisonic Mia 2 for Christmas and I just have one question I don't know if it's bc I've been using the highest speed on it but informally have combo skin and now around my lips and chin I have extremely sore chapped skin. Is this because of the speed setting? Is it possible for the clarisonic to cause this? I have no idea at first it was working great until I started using the highest speed and I just wanted to rule it out bc maybe it's a face lotion or something I'm using on my face. If you guys have any answers that would be so awesome thanks!!

Did it come with the sensitive brush? You may want to try the delicate one.

I'm honestly not sure. Maybe stop using it all together for a couple days and if it persists it may be a lotion or something else causing it. Are you also moisturizing enough? I know that where I am it's really cold and if I don't moisturize enough my skin can get pretty dry even though I have combination skin as well. If it turns out it is that setting that is causing it maybe only use it once or twice a week if you use your clarisonic every day. Make the low setting your normal speed and then only use the high setting for a deeper clean. The brush head could also be too harsh if you have very sensitive skin. As far as I know all Clarisonics come with the sensitive brush. As Brook suggested, you could try out the delicate one which is softer :)

When using the clarisonic you shouldn't be using a face wash that has the exfoliating microbead type things in it. It's too much on the skin with the clarisonic. So that could be it and I also have heard to use a very light hand when it's on your face. Do you use moisturizer?

I also just bought the mia2. Mine came with some nice night&day serums and they have been helping a lot! I also use the slowest setting and a very mild face wash.

Yes, a mild, non-abrasive cleanser is best with the device I think. I like Pacifica's Sea Foam, Purity Made Simple, or something like Cetaphil or Neutrogena's Extra Gentle cleanser. Something that just simply cleanses. I don't like acne cleansers in general so I wouldn't recommend using those with it either. But that's sort of personal preference, I feel like treatments should be their own thing and not part of a cleanser. I like them as their own separate things, I feel like they work better that way. But those types of cleansers can be irritating on their own without added exfoliation so I'd avoid them too and just get something simple and gentle.

Yes, the Clarisonic is actually considered abrasive.
The Clarisonic has caused broken capillaries and skin infections before, so I would stop using it altogether if that's the effect it has on your skin. Perhaps you're better off using a facial cleansing device that isn't abrasive.

I really appreciate each and every one that has given me your amazing suggestions I will be sure keep them in mind. Just to answer your guys questions, yes I am moisturizing, yes I use a light hand while using it, I currently am using cetaphil face wash as well, and the brush head I have is the sensitive one so I'm definitely going to try out the delicate brush head too! Once again thank you so much everyone!!
