This is probably an extremely stupid question but how do you know if a concealer/foundation/primer is gel based, silicone based, some other base??

@Shelley...I have quite a few of each product so I'm not looking for one in particular, I'm trying to figure out what all of them are and haven't been able to by their ingredients...hence it being a stupid question in my part :-)

@Stephanie...don't say that. Your question is not stupid. Bascially, in any product the first 5 ingredients is important. Silicone based product with have several forms of silicone listed. Water based...if my memory serves me right...will have water listed either first or second. And will not have silicones because its like trying to add water and oil. The two are not going to mix. Then you have oil based. It could beneficial skin oils ( dry oils that are easily and quickly absorbed by the skin) or not so beneficial skin oils ( oils that sit on top the skin and just cause chaos for some people). Those can pop up throughtout a product ingredients list or be in the top 5 or bottom 5. The lower on the ingredients list it sits the lower its concentration. So lets say you are sensitive to a high number of silicones but can tolerate a little bit on your skin. You want to pick the product in which silicone sits in the lower end of the ingredients list. Its all a game of mad chemistry and trying to figure out the fillers (non-beneficial ingredients) and who are the skin beneficial ingredients. You'd be surprised but a lot of our favorite products (foundations mainly) contain zero skin benefit ingredients and then its no wonder why when we take them off we have nasty reactions. :)
