I have never done anything to my hair, as in dye, relaxed or permed, however , as a younger girl I used to play barber shop, and rocked the whole undercut thing before it was cool, I cut my hair everytime my momma accidentally left scissors out.. And then I had to get it shaved off so it could grow back.I was going to dye it yesterday but I went a little too crazy and I couldn't afford the dye. I have only began to actually take care if my hair, and moisturize it properly , because I didn't really know how to, because my momma is white and she shampooed my hair everyday , like she did to her hair, even though we have COMPLETELY different hair. Te struggle of being a black/mixed girl with a white momma! I want to know if you ladies could give me tips and ideas on styling and caring for my hair! It's about five or six inches past my shoulder and reaches the top of my butt when I stretch my curls, but I want it to reach there without having to stretch my curls! It's grown quite a bit these past few months so I think I can reach there in maybe three years?! Anyways, any tips and styling ideas?! Thank you so much for reading this, I know I beer off topic a lot so thanks for staying with me!

Thank you Frances! That's what I usually do, but braids get awkward sometimes! PEOPLE TRY TO PET ME LIKE A DOG! I don't want to be rude but I hate that so much! And Kitty, that is the TRUTH! Why does shrinkage have to play us like this?

I used to straighten my hair 4 years ago and my freshman year of highschool I went curly. When I was younger my hair was super long and my curls were very loose. Then after I got my hair cut after the straightening and puberty hit my curl pattern changed. Now my curls are much tighter and I've been trying to grow it out for 3 years now (with no avail). I realized I wasn't really treating my hair well. I now only shampoo my hair once a week and every 3 days I'll just wet my hair in the shower and all. There's this website: tightlycurly.com and she helped me understand how to put products in and what products to use. Also I deep condition my hair once a week (lately I've been super lazy) and I used mixed chicks deep conditioner and olive oil to deep condition for like 4 hours (our hair is super dry). I'm mixed as well so I know how you feel. I learned to be super gentle with my hair. I used to braid it super tight and gel it back super tight and that's not good. It causes the hair shaft to break off and your hair won't grow. Also on YouTube I follow shameless maya (she shaved her head but before that she has awesome hair tutorials), heyfranhey, and Andreas choice. Hope I helped a bit.
