I've just moved to the sea side, and seeing as it's summer over here I spend a lot of time in the sea. My hair is getting very damaged, any tips on how to keep the damage minimal?

Being on a swim team I am constantly in chlorinated water and it destroys my hair. I've found that using a cleansing conditioner instead of shampoo and conditioner really helps. Wen is awesome but L'oreal makes a good cheaper alternative. Also leave in conditioner on your ends is a lifesaver! And leave in conditioner in my experience also helps with salt damage from the ocean. I would also recommend using a coconut oil mask on your hair twice a week to help with damage. I just wash my hair and towel dry until it is slightly damp and then slather it in coconut oil. I then wrap my head in Saran wrap, and then a towel and leave on for about an hour. I then wash it out and let my hair air dry. I hope this helps!

Make sure that you have conditioned hair when you enter the water as a protective barrier. Afterwards, wash out the salt as soon as possible (even if you don't have shampoo) and conditioner if you can.
