I'm a bit of a perfectionist when it comes to makeup! Also, I'm not sensitive to criticism :-). I've been practicing my blending today and I encourage you beauties to be extremely critical on how I did please. This is not the finished product so focus only on the blending Lol.

If you brighten the inner corners of you eyes with a highlighter it will make your eyes pop and make the blending look better.

Maybe blacker eyeliner would help 2.

Jackie yes you're right! That's where I struggle...how do you keep the darkness without fading it out completely?? I only buffed out the edges??

It must be the lighting or something because when I look in the mirror by natural light it doesn't look that blended.

Omg Jackie everything that comes out of your mouth always sounds so poetic!! You are truly an artist in every sense of the word and NOT only when it comes to makeup...in all things! This is just one if the many things I love about ya!!  :-)

I have nothing to add.
you need to add more product. just rem. its just makeup. if you overblend. add more and keep going..
makeup artist aren't perfect because they can follow steps. anyone can follow steps. its the "let me keep going until it looks right" aspect of it. knowing when to add more or blend more..
after staring at this pic while I'm typing another thing stands out to me. are you using concealer or foundation on your lid?. I feel like maybe you are blending too much because your natural pigment is 'n the way'.. for instance your seeing those shades and blending it down too much. start with a solid canvas (concealer or foundation) as to not get lost in the natural shades or your lid. I hope that makes sense. I'm not technical so can't explain as well as I'd like. ;-)

Are you using a base or primer? I think a base would really help. M.A.C's Painterly is awesome and makes a huge difference in payoff and lasting power for your shadows, I think the shadow adhering better helps with blending, for me anyway.
Some things that really help me out: so I apply my lid color, then I add my crease color and start blending, I use a windshield wiper motion and blend back and forth, if things start getting out of control or too dark I have a matte neutral color I use to tone things back down-this might really help you, especially if you're overthinking and concerned about your color usage- once I feel like I have things pretty even there I move on to either doing an outer corner sometimes(I can't see your whole picture on my phone) or I do my eyeliner. Lately I've been using shadow, I use it wet with a liner brush and then smudge it out a bit with a brush.
I hope that helps, my biggest advice is the matte nude color for softening up shadow lines, makes a huge difference for me.

I can really tell from the pics but from what I can see you didn't do bad,but I would pack on more color and as I like to see it I think of a blending brush as a eraser. So if I fade most of the color away I just go back and pac some more on and then blend the edges.

Yeah I think the problem here is that you overblended because the middle of your eyelid looks faded. it might also be your eyeshadow. it doesn't look that pigmented. a good way to intensify color is to wet your brush and then dip it in your eye shadow (as long as you didnt prime your eyes)
