I tried to flexirods & bantu knots and in the morning once I took it out it was a mess.
The other methods you mentioned, will the work on my hair? I notice on YouTube that those methods works well for ladies that have kinky hair and my hair isn't kinky.

My hair is naturally curly but I like how the twist out looks because it's so voluminous. The first picture I posted is when I get a blowout.

If you have naturally hair then it shouldn't be a problem! If you want use some mouse after washing and then hold head upside down and use a shirt or a microfiber towel to scrunch the hair don't use your fingers and repeat every so often until hair is dry, that's what I do for natural curls. Sometimes I use a diffuser and do all the same as before but use the blow dryer on low setting and dry up side down for more defined curls. Or use can use hot irons there's plenty of tutorials :)

You could try getting a 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch barrel iron and doing smaller barrel curls, it'd give you a lot of volume and bounce

Have you tried setting your curls with pins? kinda a pain but its the best method for hard to curl hair. another thing when you do use a curling iron on your hair, do not mess with the curls until they are completely cooled. this will pull the curl out so quick. you want to cup the curl in your hand right after using the iron and hold it for just a few seconds. it helps curl memory. here is a really good video that might help you. This girl is full of good tips to make your hair keep a curl and make it last all day. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jr0sOmSnxRM&list=PLJSiT0DlDhM2ZdoPU76xf-3Kgpn9tdTV2&index=7.
