Yes, I actually took my clip off. I have it in a bag and when ever I want clip curls then I put it back on.

How do you take the clamp off? Do I hold my hair for like 20 sec on the clamp?

There is two little screws on the side of the clamp (one on each side) but if yours has a little stand thing so the iron doesn't touch the table the ends are in the screw, I hope that made sense. Go to YouTube, there tons of videos, just search " how to change my clip curling iron into a clip less one"

Just wrap it around the clamp! It may get tangled a little but just be a little careful!
