What is foundation for?

I just recovered/almost recovered from having moderate to severe acne. I no longer feel the need to cover up my acne, and I was wondering why foundation is really for and why people with perfect skin might use it? Should I just stop buying foundation now?

To create a nice base for the rest of the makeup.

Nobody -has- to buy any makeup product. If you feel you don't need it, don't buy it. Don't throw your money away just because other people are telling you to get something when you feel like you don't need it.

I totally agree with Rikki. Most people with pretty clear skin use foundation just to give them that perfect even skin tone not really to cover up anything.
