I love lipstick with lipliner!! I would def suggest it. I usually put on y lipstick and then just follow the line of my lips with a lipliner a color as close to the lipstick that I have .

Lip liner is great to give you that perfect lip & stop your lipstick from bleeding. I follow my natural line around my lips & fill them in. Then apply my lipstick.

You can pick up a lip liner at your local drugstore. I would suggest taking the lipstick you plan on wearing for your date with you so you can color match a lip liner easier. Good Luck. Hope this helped :)

If you don't want to worry about matching your lipstick color you can purchase a clear lip liner. I have 3: one from Urban Decay, one from Too Faced, and one from The Body Shop. You can also purchase a liner that closely matches your natural lip color.

I definitely agree with these ladies! Lip liner helps shape your lips and stop the bleeding of lipstick. Even if the color doesn't bleed off your lips it can still make your lips look undefined. Liner isn't as bad as most people imagine. Pick a liner as close to your lipstick as possible, if you have to go one shade darker, you can blend later. At this point I like to put on a small amount of ungreasy Chapstick (like Burt's bees). Then stretch your lips like the Cheshire cat, and make 2 smooth lines (one top one bottom) right where your lips and skin meet. Your lip liner should cover that edge without going outside of the lip. Some people like to leave it at this point and add there lipstick on top, I like to do one extra step and blend a little first, especially if my liner is a shade darker. Take a clean finger, and gently push the edge of the liner that's on the inside of your lip, in towards your mouth. The liner as a whole should not look "smudged", but like a light layer of color that extends about half of your lip. Then I put on my lipstick in the uncolored section of my lip, either with a brush or as usual then blend down/up toward the liner until they meet and blend but the lipstick does cover or go past the liner. I hope this helps! If you find a technique that really works for you be sure to help! Have fun on your date :))

you don't HAVE to use lip liner, but it can help your lipstick last longer so if you are going out for the evening it could be a good option. try Stila they make red & pink shades in a twist up form so you won't need a sharpener. or you can try Urban Decay Ozone which is clear and works with any lipstick color. you want to be sure to not only line your lips but to also fill in your lips with the pencil, I use a lip brush to blend the color over the lips before adding lipstick
