My hair gets really greasy after two days of washing. I heard somewhere that baby powder does the trick? I have dark brown hair and am afraid that the white will show. Any other solutions?

Ooo! I do the baby powder! I do no recommend it... it can dry your ends out if you do it too often bit for a quick use it's helpful. I am mixed and have really dark hair. Since I have to put stuff such as grease in my hair when I straighten it, it shows and makes my hair look wet and nasty and makes me feel self-conscious. So take some baby powder pour it in your hands and rub together. There shouldn't be a lot, or it will cake just enough to lightly cover your hands and then run it through. You can either brush until you don't see white or just run your hands through it. c: hope I helped.

I used to use baby powder but switched to Aveno oatmeal bath. Sounds crazy I know. But if you try it make sure you get the regular oatmeal bath it's about $9 for 4 packets. Only ingredient is 100% colloidal oatmeal which is used in a lot of skin care products. Can sprinkle a little bit on roots of hair and rub in. I find it gets even more days between shampoos than using a dry shampoo.

I think it,s normal for hair to get greasy, and two days isn,t that fast. Just wash it, unless the grease will clog the scalp pores, which is very bad for hair. Try to avoid too harsh shampoo that can overdry scalp and stimulate producing more sebuum. My hair gets dirty after 2 days too, I was considering it greasy all my life, but I have read some more info and it's not.
I think you may try cowashing, I do this last month and hair has more volume, when it gets dirty doesn,t look that disgusting so I can not wash it one more day, and the scalp isn,t itchy anymore:-)

I have dark hair and I use baby powder! I love it! I use a little at a time, then rub it into my hand a bit before putting it in my hair so it doesn't stand out too much. Then you just rub it into your hair and you're good! I use dry shampoo but on my hair I find it doesn't work as well as baby powder.

I have used baby powder as well it does work I've only used it on my roots where it was most oily...don't use a lot cause of the whiteness but it does soak it right up...like the other ladies have said 2 days is normal for oily hair it's time to wash...if you don't like washing with shampoo all the time the co-wash (conditioner wash) you have to scrub a little harder into the scalp but less harsh then shampoo.

Thnx guys...I just tried the baby powder but it just made my hair more greasy. The natural oils in my hair make it really clumpy. I guess I'll try dry shampoo but since I'm only 14 my mom doesn't recommend using too many chemicals on my hair. I guess I'll just have to wash it again.

Co wash if you don't like to wash it everyday...just use your conditioner and its not too harsh on the hair.

If you was your hair everyday try washing once or twice a week. Washing every day strips your hair of its natural oils causing it to go into overdrive trying to recreate those oils. Cutting down on washing will train your hair to create the right amount of oils. If your hair feels nasty just use dry shampoo.

I agree with washing it less often. Slowly start spacing out how often you wash it. It will take weeks for your scalp to adjust don't give up fight the urge to wash. I wash every few days, four if I can get away with it.

Corn starch works really well for me. I've read you can mix it with a little bit of unsweetened cocoa powder so it's not so white if you have dark hair, but I've never tried it. You can spray perfume on a cotton ball and put it in the bottom of a jar then pour some corn starch on top and within a few days you'll have a custom scented homemade dry shampoo :)
