I've noticed that a lot of styles now gravitate towards skinny jeans. All my jeans are hand me downs, and they're all bootcut styled. Does anyone know any way to convert a pair of bootcut jeans to skinny jeans? Or any styles I can wear with bootcut jeans would be good :) thanks!

I think you could hem them.

Bootcut is still very in, especially what type of figure you may have. If you are thin then they give you a nice curve to your body. If you are curvy then they balance your shape out. I would style them with some ballet flats, a Cami or tank, with a cardigan and a long necklace.
