So as hard as I try I can't get even close to clear skin. I try my best to limit makeup (only use concealer and powder) any tips?

What's your routine like? Your products? Is your skin type oily or something else? Do you get blackheads as well?

Sorry girls I know it sucks! and Hannah, I try and keep it simple! I usually just use my face wash (purpose gentle cleanser) and cetaphil moisturizer. and I have oily/combo skin, just dry patches like where my acne is, and I do get the occasional blackhead but it's mostly zits and stuff!

I use make up, but when I come home I use two make up remover wipes then this toner and cleanser from the body shop, and scrub it etccc and I never get spots, just make sure it's clean before you go to sleep :)

I use Clinique. Even with proactive my face would swell up and turn puffy and oil beyond belief... Eww. But I started using Clinique around Christmas and it's already mostly clear.

Okay well I'd recommend finding a good cleanser with salicylic acid, like the Neutrogena Deep Clean cream cleanser, and then follow with moisturizer everywhere, and then a spot treatment. Tea tree oil will work, but I also like the Burt's Bees acne spot treatment.

Find a Lush store. Actually go to a store so they can give you personalized skin products. It's not cheap but you will radiate with healthy skin!!

I've had super bad luck with Lush, actually; the artificial colors and scents don't do anything good for your skin, and if you like it because you're under the impression that it's "organic," be aware that there is technically no such thing as organic skincare or makeup. I wouldn't use Lush products on my face, they don't really do much.

I have the same problem, but I just try to keep my routine simple. I just wanted to say if you try the Burt's bee acne treatment, patch test it first. I had a bad allergic reaction to it. it happens, so be careful of what you put on your skin.

First off, buy a cleanser. I recommend you buy a basic cleanser with no acne medication. Cleanser is meant to clean your skin, not treat it. Make sure it doesn't foam, because that really strips your skin from it's natural oils.
Next is toner. Toner is important because it helps balance your skin and it gets the extra gunk out of your skin.
Moisturizer! Get an oil free one. Never skip moisturizing, it provides enough moisture so your skin doesn't over produce oil which can clog pores.
Acne Treatment: Tea Tree oil is amazing for acne!! Just put it on any spots you get and it'll reduce the size and eventually go away. You can even make your own toner with it. Half water, half tea tree oil. Lemon juice also helps acne but most importantly, scarring.
Scrubs: You want to scrub 1-3 times a week depending on the sensitivity of your skin. It helps get rid of dead skin cells so your skin will shine through.
Mask: Masks are great to do weekly. They detox your face and really get into your pores to get all the gunk out. There's a wide variety at stores or you can make your own masks at home!
Hope this helps a bit. I'm not a pro or anything but it has helped me. :)

I use tea tree oil as my toner it works well but I have to say the ratio of 1:1 is way too strong you have to dilute it with 8 or 9 parts water or it will burn your face.

After you wash your face, you should follow up with a good toner (witch hazel, tea tree water from lush etc) and moisturizer then a spot treatment for your zits
