It's investing if it's worth it, wasting if it's not.

I have been buying drug store make up for my entire life. When I come home, it's basically a test of 50/50, either I'll love it; or I'll hate it, and realize I just wasted my money. But I feel like I might not be the only one who does that ;)

Some of the ones I've hated and suggest nobody wastes their time on are: the Maybelline Air Foam, does nothing for you and it's all chemicals and Loreal's BB Cream, I think it's all hype and didnt actually do what it said it would.
When it comes to cheap GOOD-DRUG-STORE products, I suggest Covergirl's eye liner and their eye shadows (especially the one named Coffee Shop), I feel like they have good color options and they last me all day. Also NYC bronzer and even their brow liners are good.
The one I'm still iffy about is Maybelline's "Dream Matte Mouse", it's good for coverage, but it does not last longer than 2 hours, it seems like.
In conclusion, I went out and bought MICA foundation and moisturizer today and I guess the expected happend, once you buy make up as good as that, you realize that spending little amounts of money OFTEN is terrible compared to spending quite a lot more ONE TIME. My face looked so so much different, and the fact that there were no chemicals made it even better.

Has this happened to anyone? And are there any drug store products you would suggest for a good price? And ones you wish you would've never bought? I want to know about peoples experiences!

Honestly, I've tried every drugstore brand there is and there are VERY few items I actually like. Wet and wild eye shadows are to die for! Maybelline eyebrow pencils are amazing. Rimmel lipsticks are fantastic. Other than that, I tend to stick to the high end or couture lines

A lot of brands have faults and so called high end is related to most drug store brands and I've never heard of couture use for makeup lines hmm.... but other then that you should be able to return items that you don't care for and makeup is a trail of error for each person just because one thing works for another it may not work for you no matter what brand or cost it is.

Couture is like Chanel or Dior. Yes I love that you can return items if you don't like them from sephora and such!!!

I know what chanel and Dior are ;-) it was sarcasm. Makeup Lines can't be Couture that word is for the design and manufacture of fashionable clothes to a client’s specific requirements and measurements.I just thought it was cute because I thought you can't sew eye makeup.

I buy drug store and supposedly high brands, and some work and others don't. It's different with every person. And their skin type.

I use both drugstore && high end and regardless it seems like all brands have hit or miss items ((Chanel - love the foundation/hate the eyeshadows; Mac - love the blushes, lip products, && eye shadows/hate the foundations && mascaras; maybelline - love the eyeshadows && mascaras/hate the foundations)) for me it's always trial && error regardless of the brand. There is an app called total beauty that had all kinds of product reviews if that might help ease your mind before you make your next purchase

You can return drugstore makeup. I've returned at Target, CVS, Walgreens. As long as you have the receipt. I LOVE drugstore makeup!!

in my personal experience most of the better drugstore items are ones that cost a bit more (for a drugstore brand) for example some of the Physicians Formula products are excellent the highlighter and blushes I've tried from the line are great. I also love Nuance by Salma Hayek in my opinion the quality is high end but the price tag isn't and I have tried everything in the line. Milani makes some great stuff too and on the cheaper end I've had a good experience with Wet N Wild eye shadows. I have been very disappointed in every brand of drugstore BB cream I've tried. I also haven't had much luck with drugstore mascaras. I would say a lot of brands regardless of price point have items that are hit or miss. I mix and match brands and have tested over time to learn what I like.
