I'm not sure how you'd set it up, but is there some way you could prop your camera directly above your hand? Like an above view? I haven't seen your video but I feel like this would show exactly what you're doing. Maybe attach it to a desk/office lamp?

If you have one of those flexible tripods you can position your camera facing down onto your nails. You can buy a branded one for $20 and it'll work perfectly as long as your camera is a regular point and shoot or a mirror less interchangeable lens camera you should be fine. It wouldn't really support a DSLR though.

Just make sure the lighting is good and it is close up on the nails so we can see what you are doing (:
