I seem to be having a problem with eyeliner smudging onto my crease throughout the day...any suggestions for an eyeliner that stays?

My sister had that problem and I told her to use an angled brush to press black eyeshadow onto the liner to set it, which is what I do and it worked for her as well.

Have you tried a waterproof liner like uran decay 24/6.

No I was using Maybelline eye studio gel liner and right now I'm using Mary Kay pencil liner and it doesn't seem to be as bad. I think maybe I need a better primer because my eye shadow seems to travel as well.

You might have oily lids. Try to find an eyeshadow primer that will mattify your lids and soak up oil. Maybe try for a slightly drier consistency. I've tried a lot of eye primers and some really good ones are the Urban Decay Primer Potion, Palladio Herbal Eye primer and Elf's eye primers. The latter are two cheaper options. Gel eyeliner is so creamy its best to set with a powder, and some pencils are really creamy and are best set with a powder shadow too. Before priming your eyes wipe any oils away first.

I second the setting it with a black eyeshadow. When I do a thick liner I always set with a black shadow to prevent it from smudging on the top of my eye. Also its very easy to apply too thick of a line with the Maybelline Eyestudio gel. Make sure that you sweep in on to a consistent but not "globby" line. A little goes a long way
