Most underrated/overrated products.

I'm also going to say that overrated is the Anastasia Brow Powder. Why not just use shadow? It does the same thing. And the Anastasia is so chalky and just ugh. But people totally rave about it!

I have to add the LA Girl Pro concealers, great product, very pigmented and long lasting, and 18 different colors. People say it's a dupe for MAC pro longwear.

I personally don't think eos is overrated! They do everything they say they do and they make my lips so soft! Also when they're chapped they make my lips go back to normally so quick. Overrated products: benefit they're real naked underrated: kvd palettes

Ikr, I love Pro longwear, but the LA girl concealers are $1.99 a pop, you can't beat that. You can order them from iKatehouse for the cheapest price. or find them at your local beauty supply store.

Underrated:
- I second the Kat von D True Romance eyeshadow palettes. I own 4 and I use them more often than any of my other palettes.

- Clinique: The whole brand is underrated! The foundations and mascaras are absolutely amazing. Not to mention, the packaging is super cute. And I love the whole "lab" vibe. By far one of my favorite brands.

- Here's an interesting one. Bare minerals. I don't use the powder foundation, but I have the loose eyeshadow in "Snow." It's a beautiful matte white. Great texture, and extremely pigmented. They have great lipgloss too. Although I never hear anyone mention them.

- Burt's Bees Chapstick: Just started using this and I'm impressed. It's very moisturizing.

Overrated:

- Benefit They're Real. Really loved this at first, but after a while it got really clumpy.

- I would say the Naked palettes, but I understand why everyone loves them.

As much as I love benefits they're real mascara, it is overrated. The Kat von d palettes are some of the best I've used. I also love wet and wild lipsticks, I feel they are underrated. They last so long!

Haha going through this I keep seeing people saying Eos lip balms are overrated but I love Eos I think it works great! I think Baby lips is overrated. I don't see why people use it.

Overrated: MAC.
I find everything MAC to be overrated. I just don't like them. Why do people pay 20 something dollars for lipstick colors that are a dollar by NYC and look prettier??!? You know how many NYC lipsticks I can buy with 20 dollars?! TWENTY.
Naked Palettes - THEY ARE NOT THAT PIGMENTED GET OVER IT PEOPLE.
Urban decay setting sprays- MODEL IN A BOTTLE IS SO MUCH BETTER WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE. ( I only say that cause someone SWORE they did so much research, yet I don't see very many MUA's or articles written by MUA boosting the rep of UD. )

Underrated:
Stila - The eyeshadows are beautifully pigmented, I bought a kit that included 4 quads and I was surprised at how pigmented they were without a primer or a wet brush.

BareMinerals - People always ask why my skin looks like porcelain in real life... Uhhh cause thats the effect mineral foundation flawlessly gives?!
Sorry, as time goes on I try out all these liquid foundations I find them looking more disgusting than anything.
THE LOOSE EYESHADOWS ARE AMAZING.

Tarte- THEY HAVE A MINERAL FOUNDATION. NO ONE KNOWS THIS. WHY AM I THE ONLY ONE THAT KNOWS THIS?!
SERIOUSLY. IT IS AMAZING. It is BM with very full coverage. And it looks airbrushed... But thats also in the title.
They have an eye primer AND ITS BETTER THAN URBAN DECAY.

Lorac- They have yet to fail me. I got a primer? Love. Eyeshadows?? Love. Primer for the eyes? BETTER THAN URBAN DECAY.

L'oreal infalliable eyeshadows - Very pigmented.

NYX- just cause its cheap don't mean it aint no good.

Lumene- WHY DO PEOPLE BUY OTHER BB CREAMS WHEN THIS ONE OWNS?!
IS IT CAUSE ITS SWEDEN?
For shameeee. It even works better than my Loreal Lumi foundation.

Underrated: elf lip pens. I'm seriously addicted and its the perfect nude shade for me. plus its $1 at target.
overrated would have to be Model in bottle. I just don't get it. made my face super greasy.

Underrated: physicians formula products and clinique products in general, wetnwild blush is beautiful as are their megalast lipglosses, Almay (especially their lip products), Stila products

Overrated: Any burts bees product that isnt for the lips, yes to..brand, eos, baby lips, benefit benetints

I think stila is a bit underrated especially their in the (x) palettes. I also think that Bobbi brown isn't talked about as much as it deserves.
I think urban decay is a bit overrated and so is the Nars blushes.
Maybelline (spelling?) mascaras in general. They all clump and are a hot mess for me

Overrated:
Naked Palettes. I love me some Urban Decay, but I am not wowed by the naked palettes at all. I have the third one and I think its pretty... but its just so-so, if I didn't buy it at such a discounted rate, I would have returned it for sure. The first two do NOT speak to me at all. So many other wonderful neutral palettes with much more diversity. I feel like most looks from the Naked palettes look "muddy" too and I feel like I'll be crucified for saying so.

Benefit They're Real. Its a mascara I use, but I honestly hated it when I first bought it and now I only find it useable, layered over my Bad Gal Lash.

NARS Orgasm Blush and Laguna Bronzer. Not a huge fan, I hate them with my coloring.. and honestly, I'm never "wowed" by them on other people either!

The Clarisonic. I just doesn't work for me. I'm sick of thinking about it, reading about it, and seeing it everywhere. I can't seem to escape the Clarisonic craze no matter where I am. I do love the body brush attachment for my Pro, but thinking of it as a life changing facial brush is just a total miss for me.

MAC products. I've used MAC products of all sorts over the years, but since actually going out and trying new things, I find the products quite underwhelming for the price. Of course I purchase a fair amount of products from MAC, but I actually favor a lot of drug store products to MAC products or else I don't mind splurging on another mid range or high end brand for better quality.

EOS and Baby Lips Lip Balms. Their packaging is cute and REALLY appeals to the preteens and teen crowd on here, but after trying them, that seems to be the extent of their appeal. There are much better beneficial lip products out there that I will stick with.



underrated:
local or small, indie shops & products. Lately, I've been doing tons of beauty related shopping through smaller sites &etsy, and I have been absolutely floored with the quality of products I have been trying. There are a lot of amazing things going on in smaller, indie companies and being able to experience that is just so wonderful.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Stain Balm. I'm just so batty about these! Not only are they pigmented and long lasting, but they are just sooooo easy and user friendly, what's not to love about them?!

NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I don't know why everyone isn't obsessed with these...or even talking about them that much. They last forever, they are *not* drying, and they're so pigmented. Only downside is the color availability, but they just released new colors so I'm a happy camper.

bh Cosmetics Liquid Liner Pen. Everyone has great things to say... about bh cosmetics shadow palettes. But what about this liner pen!? I find it comparable to my Stila Waterproof Liquid Liner Pen and use them interchangeably despite the $17 price difference. I'm just super impressed with this product and I'm so surprised that I don't hear anyone talking about it or recommending it!

Fracas by Robert Piguet parfum. I love perfume, everyone loves perfume... but I'm absolutely astonished by how few people have heard of or even used this scent! Its absolutely wonderful and definitely underrated.

Wet n Wild, Milani, and NYX lip liners. I love lip liners from these three brands.. and I actually prefer them to almost any other brand-drugstore, mid-range, or high end included.
