I would say darker. I wear black rimmed glasses and you can barely tell what colors I'm wearing. But I use it to my advantage because if I wear color, it's not too much.. But I would say darker ;-)

Light shadow, dark liner. Otherwise the attention will be focused on your eyes in a way that there is just a bunch of stuff there.
