I usually use cloth and move it around and pat it on the cloth and then dampen them!

I have had my brushes forever and all I do is run my brushes under warm water first. Then I take conditioner and swirl the brush around in it and the out the brush in the warm water.
I do that to ll my brushes.
And to dry I take a towel and fold one side just a little so when I set the brush on it it puts them on a slant. When you do this the brush part should be sticking down no the stick part is up. ThI is so water does not stay in the brush and it can dry correctly.

I use baby shampoo. Just pour some in your hand or on a plate and then wet the brush and swirl it around until you get all the color out then rinse
