What do you prefer? Matte eyeshadow or shimmery eyeshadow? I like shimmer BUT I'm getting tired of all the eyeshadows with chunk of glitter in them. I'm starting to lean towards mattes. Your thoughts and what do you ladies prefer?

I prefer shimmer, but tend towards high end shimmer (Dior and such) as they seem to be finer milled and not so chunky, but I like to pair my shimmer on the lid with matte above the crease line.

I've always been a shimmer girl, but lately I've been seeing some beautiful pics of matte eyeshadow looks and I like the clean, fresh look if it. I only own the makes basics BUT I find on my nc42/nc44 skin tones it blends right into my lid. Ladies what do you use to make matte neutral shades have more pigmentation? Is there a base to help make the colors pop a little?

Dip your brush in contact solution or water to wet it candi then put on the shadow. Or use primer or even white.

Sorry this is kind of random, but I have a ton of shimmers and I am also getting tired of them...any good suggestions for a semi-affordable matte collection/pallet? I use ELF Primer, Candi, and although it is cheap, it is as good as my high end primers. It helps the color and looks more pigmented...lasts awhile too.

Shimmer and matte for the crease/above the crease. for those chunky glitter shimmers I just tap the brush a few times and that kind of releases some of the glitter.

I prefer matte. it could be because I may not apply shimmer colors correctly but they make me look like a clown lol.. or it could also be because it was a really cheap brand. like you said matte looks more clean and fresh (at least to me anyway)

Alllllllll matte everything! I love a matte eye and a really dewy highlighted face. If I use shimmer it's only on my lid / bottom waterline and neverrr in my crease or anywhere else.
