Try hairspraying the piece first then trying. A curling wand might be better considering it doesn't have a clamp.

Roll your hair in a spiral around the iron, or else the way you do it, only the hair nearest the iron will curl.

Yes I agree with Jayde wands work so much better. I used to have the same problem you have with the curling iron and not only that my curls would fall out within about an hour or two. Even if you can't get one right away I suggest looking into getting one for the future they are definitely worth it.

I agree with Jayde too, try a wand instead! they distribute heat to the hair evenly & give the most beautiful curls. but if you stick with the curling iron, try curling in smaller sections & start from the top and gradually curl your way down.

Try curling your hair without the clamp. just wrap your hair around the curling like a wand. And like Jayde said hairspray your hair before cause if you do it afterwards it could weigh your hair down. Don't put too much hairspray though. Just lightly spray it.
