Its depends what your seeking to achieve with your foundation. For myself personally I've tried all the drugstore foundations and had zero luck. Nothing but duds for me. If it wasn't an issue with the color not matching perfectly then it was causing me awful breakouts. I've had the best success with Bobbi Brown. Perfect color match in all her formulas and no nasty reactions. The best thing to do is to experiment with both high-end and d/s....but what's nice about highend is that you can get samples (from Sephora and dept. stores) as with drugstores you won't have that ability.

I like Nars sheer glow. And there is also this company called melaleuca and they have a makeup line called "Sei Bella" and there foundation is awesome and they use very "go green" ingredients and products.
