Straightening hair- help please.

I really really like the look of straight hair on me- but I'm not paying $80 to get it done professionally. Or relaxed.
But when I do it myself it gets straight but it's poofy! It's also hard for me to do it myself because my hair is so many different lengths. I can't buy anymore products but I have the chi and I use olive oil heat protectant/straightening serum. Any tips for pin straight hair?

Hair now. It's much longer when it's blow dried.

It shouldn't be that hard, my hairs much more ethnic and crazy and I get it pin straight and I'm all natural about it.
How do you straighten?

Blow dry it with a denman brush or a paddle brush. then when you flat iron take 1/2" - 1" sections and use a heat resistant comb in front of your flat iron as you glide it down your hair, you'll get it straighter that way in one glide!

What do you use in your hair before applying the flat iron and how exactly are you using the flat iron and what kind of flat iron are you using?

Do you blow dry your hair with a round brush first before flat ironing?
