Also the cakeyness comes more from application than products. stippling buffing or even using a beauty blender should help with that.

Maybelline fit me omg! it has such a lovely dewy finish and you can build up the coverage without it caking up! I feel like I rave about it a lot on here but it is affordable and just great,it has also the first foundation that has never broke me out, loreal true match is great too! And yes the application can make it look cakey but a beauty blender has never given me a cakey finish.

Loreal Lumi is the BEST drugstore foundation I have encountered, hands down. I have dry skin and some very minor acne and chickenpox scarring (I was young and picked - against my beautiful mothers firm warnings) & so I also like to get a decent amount of coverage from my foundation. Please note though- I tried applying it with my fingers and it did get a tiny bit cakey. So I pulled out my foundation brush and tried that. It was like magic. Almost like a different product. So I do highly recommend it I just believe application should be done with a brush or beauty blender. Good luck!

Clinique even better, it has been the best for my dry skin and its only about $27 which isn't that bad for high end. And I agree with Amy on the right application. Also make sure you are using a good moisturizer and primer, I recommend CeraVe Moisturizing Lotion and Elf Primer or Maybelline Baby Skin
