Please do not take offense... I am only saying this from personal experience, but if you have hooded eyes it is almost impossible to place emphasis on your lashes, unless they are a mile long. I suggest a simple set of natural looking false eyelashes anytime you want to emphasize the eyes and definitely the lashes.

I have hooded eyelids and I love the way false eyelashes look. Even if I use them for a natural look. It makes a huge difference for me! :)

@ Amy. I'm not offended at all. I guess when I said I wanted to emphasize the lashes I meant that I actually took the time to put on mascara! since I rarely ever do so. But I agree with you completely on the false lashes part. I've been pretty interested in trying them out. Can you suggest a pair of natural lashes please? and thank you for the comment.

Melanie, glad you knew how to take what I was saying. I honestly am new on here and didn't know how my input would be taken. :)
As far as the eyelashes, Ardell makes tons of them. Here is a link:

The only thing with Ardell or any kind of false lashes you buy at the store is how darn expensive they all are. I started out buying all of mine from Sally's and at around five bucks a pair it can get a little costly. So after I figured out what I like and don't like, and what sort of styles I felt looked best, I started ordering them off of Amazon. They are dirt cheap on there. They aren't always the highest quality, but when you are getting the pair for like three bucks shipping included it's easy to just wear and toss. Lol :)
The one tip I do have is that for me, having hooded eyes, I always go with the easy to use strip lashes that have some sort of flare on the outer part of the eye. I have tried tons and tons of styles and that outer flair makes a gigantic difference. When I have tried ones without (say ones that just have nice medium length lashes all across) I always end up looking like my eyes are not only squinty but tiny.
I guess my ultimate advice would be to buy a few pairs at Sally's or Walgreens or wherever but try out a few different styles until you find what suits you. Just be forwarned - - they can be VERY addictive. Good luck, I know if you try em you will fall in love with how great they make your eyes look!

Edit: regarding amazon- meant to say TEN pair for three dollars. :)
