Hi, :)
I'm wondering if anyone knows some good tips for treating current acne and acne prevention? My acne keeps recurring in the same places and it's starting to cause little scars. So tips would be appreciated, thanks.

What I do, is after I eat breakfast in the morning, wash my face with a gentle acne wash, and at night in the shower use a stronger one. Cutting back on foundation helps to keep your pores unclogged as well :)

Ik it's better to keep your pores open but ever sense I started using a bb cream my skin has cleared up a lot and is very smooth!

Going to the dermatologist might be your best bet if you've tried all you can. You really just need to find what works for your skin. Analyzing what your skin types is and adjusting your skincare routine based on that, is the first step. Invest in an acne cleanser and even a spot treatment of you'd like.

I agree with Yasmine. Although I'd say drinking plenty of water, eating a healthy, balanced diet, exercise etc.is the very 1st step bcos what you put in your body will have a direct effect on your skin. Sometimes we are looking for a miracle cure when the simple things work best.

Use the dermo as a last..very last resort and take a good hard look at what is going on with your skin. Are you not eating a balanced diet? What is your current skincare program? Abusing your body internally and externally will reflect in your skin regardless of whatever products you're using. Plus, using too many harsh products at the same time will cause more havoc than good. Yasmine and Chantell offer great advice. And remember...whatever products you do decide to try out...don't throw in the towel if you don't see results overnight. Its just not going to happen. Most skincare products take 3-6 months to see positive results and that is with consistant use.

A gentle cleanser, non-alcohol toner and a daytime moisturizer that contains spf and is oil free us ideal. Along with a night-time moisturizer that contains sayliac acid. A spot treatment too. Check out the Murad acne starter kit from Sephora. It contains smaller products (not full-size) but it will allow for enough time to see if it does a difference to your skin. I think it retails for either $29 or $39 bucks. The goal is to keep those pores free of yuckiness.

Treating acne can be tricky. Some clients have been a breeze, others a nightmare... its case by case. The core is the same.
Healthy diet
Water
Sleep
Cleanse, tone protect in the day
Cleanse, tone, treat, hydrate evening
Exfoliate, ezymatic once per week
Monthly treatments with facials (peel, oxygen, high frequency... there are choices)
Sometimes it won't work... hormonal acne isnt preventable. Some acne types cannot be treated without medications perscribed by a dermatologist.

First step... find a good estie, who offers free consults. Most do. Avoid chain spas. Usually a private practice aesthecian, will give you the most bang for your buck. Make sure their product line is medical grade, and research reviews on them.
