So I made this bag from the leftovers of jeans I cut into shorts and I like the way it has come out the thing that I'm afraid of is that the arms are too fragile and if I put something heavy in the bag the arms might rip! Any ideas on how to make the arms much more stronger than they are now?

Add some fabric glue to the area where you sewed it.
