I love winged eyeliner, but every time I try the liner looks way too thick, or I screw up, and it looks horrible. Any tips?

I do mine all the time and it took so so so long to get the hang of it and I know you've probably herd it so many times, but the key is to practice! Also, make sure you have a good quality eyeliner that suits your needs. I prefer the maybelline master precise because it's very true to it's name with the super thin tip and it has a steady flow. Another tip of mine (I used to do this when I was just starting out) is to take a piece of sticky tape and stick it To the back of your hand a few times to wear down the stickiness and then lay it alongside your eye, and one on the other eye, making sure they're even. Then just do your eyeliner and, while still taking a bit of practice, it will be much better than without the tape. (Be careful when peeling it off) another tip is not to use a full on liquid eyeliner such as maybelline hyper glossy until you feel like you've got the hang of it. I've only recently started using liquid and it took a while to get used to it. Try using a felt tip liner first. Hope you find this helpful! xx

Thanks ladies!! I guess using liquid eyeliner for starters was a bad move x3. It turned out messy, and smudged, and didn't leave a good impression. I will definitely try the tape! :)

I used to do my eyeliner in pencil...then go over it with liquid eyeliner and wing it out a bit. It really really worked! It was like a stencil that I followed. And after a while I cut out the pencil eyeliner and I was doing liquid like a pro:) <--maybe not but close haha
I highly suggest this;) it worked for me

It all depends on the shape of your eyes. honestly you just have to play with your liner until you gone something that fits. I love the liquid liner for myself because it glides in with one stroke.

I just draw a line until its the thickness I want then from the corner of my eye I draw up and then pull it down to the line I drew and fill it in.
