I'm looking for a really good foundation that has excellent coverage, a brightening effect, and a nice finish (matte or dewy, I don't mind). Which would you recommend? Is MAC any good for foundation?

I personally don't like MAC foundation, it wasn't great for my dry combo skin. I know mainly ppl like it though (: I'd recommend the covergirl advanced radiance age defying makeup but make sure you get it a shade darker than your actual skin (:

I am a MAC girl through and through but their foundation isn't for me. I have dry/sensitive skin and it breaks me out within hours of use. It feels heavy to me. It may look nice but it feels cakey when I wear it.
I've tried many of the foundations they offer at Sephora. I'm a fan of the Diorskin Forever Flawless foundation. However, I fell in love with the Make Up For Ever HD Foundations and their Liquid Lift Foundation. I use the Liquid Lift daily. My skin is happy with it too. Doesn't cause me to dry out or break out. You can get a dewy look want, but if you want a matte look all you have to do is apply a layer of finishing powder. It's very versatile. Love it<3 it's $40-$45 but one bottle lasts me 3+ months.

I use revlon. I've heard good things about Kat Von D. Most people that I've heard from say that they do not like Mac. If you can, I'd suggest going to sephora and sampling a bunch of foundation before buying one.

I LOVE me some M.A.C but their foundation has yet to wow me. The concealer, that's good.
For foundation, Face Atelier is excellent.

I love mac foundations. I may be the only one. But if you want brightening you may have to mix strobe cream with your foundation I suggest mac pro longwear or studio fix fluid

I find Mac foundation very heavy. Personally I am a big fan of Lancôme. I recently dropped the bottle so don't know the name.. However it comes with a concealer inside the lid that it's distinguishing feature.

I personally didn't like mac foundation a bit heavy for my face 😔 what I use right now is either loreal true match or the new foundation bareminerals has the bareskin serum foundation! 👍👍 thumbs up doesn't feel heavy at all very nice finish to your face. Highly recommend it 😊

Every line has a great amount of options for what your looking for and yes sometimes some need a little tweaking that's when other options come into play to make your foundation right for you like adding a illuminator to your routine or getting a foundation mixing medium to thin it out.For what you want I would suggest Givenchy photo O'perfexion, Make up for ever HD, cover fx natural fx, Estee Lauder double wear, Estee Lauder double wear maximum camouflage coverage, Maybelline dream matte mousse,Revlon photo ready (Airbrush) Revlon photo ready.A added extra would be Boots N7 instant radiance beauty balm, Stila liquid Luminizer.

As for Mac you would need to try it out yourself like any other foundation just note that the foundations can be broken down to your liking with mixing medium which Mac does carry :-)

Bree I love that foundation one of my faves, have you tried their face powders they're a beautiful finish as well.I feel like its so underrated Givenchy has magnificent products.

I am currently using MAC studio fix foundation+powder and thus far I'm really liking it. it keeps my tzone areas at bay shine-less with a wonderful soft dewy finish. I also use Mac matte primer underneath at times otherwise I use Mac oil control lotion. happy woman.
