I have a very very red, pigmented liquid lip stain that I really love, but it doesn't apply well. If I were to mix some of the stain with a base (beeswax balm or Vaseline) would it turn into a sort of staining balm?

Test a small amount of it and see how you go :) never hurts to try and its sounds like a good idea.

Would it still stain though?

It might come out a bit lighter but yes, it would be a sort of staining balm.

It won't stain as well. It'll come off like vaseline but with a bit more of longevity. Not enough for a full day, though.

I personally wouldn't mix it because the emollients in the balm will make the stain emollient as well, it'll turn it into a tinted lip balm it may stain a little but not sure. Try putting the stain on and then using a little bit of a lip balm on top
