Hey everyone!! This is my first post... So I've been breaking out lately and I know it's a hormonal thing but every time I try an acne face wash or toner I break out more!! Is this supposed to happen? I've tried different brands and different types of washes etc.but everything just makes it worse. Is it supposed to get worse before it gets better? If so how do you know if it's helping you clear out your pores or if your allergic to it?

I've never broken out from a cleanser or toner but I think that happens sometimes. Usually it takes about a month for cell turnover and to see results from a product. If you don't start seeing improvement after that time, you might be allergic to the product.

Whenever you start any new acne medication you may break out depending on your skin type but it's usually just a purging process your skin is going through but should not last more than 2-4 weeks if after a month your skin is not improving then probably you should see a dermatologist to get a professional opinion.

Make sure to moisterize after cleansing n toning...wen the skin is cleansed/toned it strips off excess sebum/oils n wen not replaced, the skin produces mor oil to compensate therefore more susceptible to breakouts😁

Thanks so much everyone!! I'm going to keep using a new toner I got and see what happens. I really don't want to go through the "get worse before it gets better" part but if that's considered normal and even supposed to happen I guess I'll manage!!
