Hi girls!
Is it bad when you can see someone's ribcage? My mom said its bad that she can see mine

You can see my rib cage and personally I don't think it looks 'healthy' but before that, are you happy? Stuff what others say! If your happy with your weight then don't worry about it. I've been trying for several months to put weight on but soon as I gain some I loose it! I've just had to come with terms of not minding the fact you can see my ribcage.

Oohh I would love for my ribcage to show! I know it sounds silly, but seriously I want to be skinny! I'm trying to loose weight... It's hard for me! Too bad everyone in my family has slow metabolism! I don't think it's bad... As long as you have a healthy diet and you look after yourself well, it's okay! ❤️

If your happy and healthy then who cares :)

Agree with Saoirse. But be careful. If your body is processing food too fast it could be a thyroid problem. Two of my family members have that problem. If you ever start feeling lightheaded or (excuse my expression) your bathroom time isn't regular then you might want to see a doctor. What the thyroid does is it isn't getting enough nutrition (vitamins and minerals) so it has to take it from your bones and muscle tissue which is BAD. Not trying to freak you out or anything lol. I actually have the opposite problem where I have an under active thyroid and I just keep getting bigger no matter what I do lol.

Thank you for warning me! I Believe a increase in metabolism is a side effect of my meds,

If you've always been naturally thin, then I think it's ok as long as you have a healthy diet
However if you've just recently gotten very thin as a medication side effect I'd contact your doctor to make sure it's ok
And also if you don't mind your ribs showing, and you like how your body looks, that's all that matters.

As long as you're healthy and eating healthy foods, I think it should be okay as long as your ribs aren't like protruding out or anything (:

No it's not bad at all! Half of my family's ribs show. We must just have big ribcages because my dad is actually overweight...but you can still always see his ribs. Whether your ribs show because you're skinny or because you just have a big ribcage, it's completely healthy :)

If you are naturally very skinny then no, it is not bad. However, if you are going on diets and exercising to get to the point where you can see bones, then yes. It's bad. There is a difference between, thin/skinny, fit/healthy. Just because you are thin, that doesn't mean you are healthy. Take a look at models, they eat toilet paper to keep from getting hungry. That doesn't sound very healthy to me. I've had friends who lost 100 lbs in three months but they were deficient in all vitamins.

It can honestly depend! Some have naturally more prominant ribcages than others. Even slightly overweight you can see mine.
