What is the most controversial aspect of makeup?

I think some girls overstep things or guys find it unnecessary or confusing.

Either animal cruelty or like Jacqlyn said, girls trying to cover up who they really are with makeup

Cosmetics testing on animals is particularly controversial..

I think it's all about what they're comfortable with tho. Like if a girl isn't comfortable without makeup & wants to cover her entire face with it why is it anyone else's business.

Honestly it kind of scares me at times. Lately I've been wearing no makeup at all everyday and I'm so surprised at how I actually look naturally :/ I don't even usually wear a complete full face, but I do wear foundation eyeliner sometimes eyeshadow&lashes or lipstick. I can't imagine how different and un-like me I'd look with contouring&blush so I stay away from buying that. It just makes things so different, I have this image in my head of myself naturally then I look in the mirror and its just like wow, I don't even feel like I'm seeing myself.. Its weird. :/

But I do love makeup and think people look gorgeous with it lol. Just scares me thinking about it a lot.

@jacqlyn which is where I get confused cus why is it any of their business whether you're "lying about the way you look"? Like how does you wearing makeup alter their life choices in anyway enough for them to make some dumbass comment like that. Jacqlyn DO YOU BOOBOO lol if YOU feel confident then that matters really

What is the right amount of makeup to wear. I feel like everybody should wear how much makeup they want! After all, is them wearing the amount of makeup they are going to affect your life?? Not in any shape or form! It just bugs me when people say you're wearing toooo much makeup...I get it like sometimes it can look cakey or whatever but I mean if that's the way they like it then what is there to do about it besides nagging about it..if it bugs you then deal with it. (No hate please! Just stating my opinion)☺️😊😊 and I agree with you girls!^^ because some people do feel more confident when they are "hiding" their imperfections...but as an acne sufferer, I know what it's like to be out and no makeup on and a bunch of acne on my face. It sucks and unless you have gone through a really bad acne experience I don't think people have the right to say "embrace your face" I mean yes enhance your features but there's some of us who feel more confident with more makeup on and "hiding"😒😒 sorry it was a long rant!

I hate it when people try and pull the whole 'you're trying to hide/lie about what you look like' card. What about hair color? That's hiding your natural color, just like makeup hides your natural face. Or nail polish? That hides your natural nail. Why don't people fuss about that? Because it doesn't matter, and how much makeup a girl, or anyone, wants to wear doesn't matter either. If I want to wear a full face of makeup just to go out and get the mail or go to the grocery store, I will. Also, to me personally, makeup isn't just about covering flaws. Makeup is an art. I think not many people who fuss about how much makeup a girl is wearing realize that.

That last part regain said is what I really agree with the most. I use foundation and mascara everyday because I don't feel confident without it at all. But what I really love about makeup is playing around with different styles and colours. One of my favourite things in the world is looking at all my eyeshadows and choosing which colours I want to combine and use.I feel like there's an assumption that if a girl has on noticeable makeup like a bold lip or eye than she must be doing it because she wants everyone to notice her and think she is gorgeous or something. I don't do bold makeup for any reason other than the fact that I ENJOY it!! its not just an art but can be a hobby and creative outlet. I do get self conscious sometimes but at the end of the day why should I stop doing something that I love because other people might make stupid assumptions about why I'm doing it.

Like Regan said, makeup isn't just covering flaws and imperfections. It's an art. If it makes you feel better about yourself and more confident about yourself, then what's the problem. Maybe some girls just enjoy putting makeup on because it makes them feel prettier. I suffer from acne problems, and when I don't wear makeup I feel like people are only looking at my forehead. I always feel prettier and better about myself when I wear a full face of makeup honestly, and I don't see anything wrong with that.💕

I don't understand the world we live in. I've never been told I'm wearing too much makeup or hiding my natural face and it makes me sad to know that some girls are being told this. Who are they to tell others how to look? Not everyone likes natural, and not everyone should want to be natural. It's ok to like the look of makeup.
As that Barbie ad said a few years ago "Be who you want to be. B-A-R-B-I-E" haha

I hate when people tell me I'm wearing too much makeup! Who are they to judge! It's not their face and me wearing makeup doesn't affect them at all!! There is no set guideline on how much makeup is too much at a certain age or any of that junk. I wear what I want to wear and I don't care what any one else thinks. If they have a problem with the way I look then they can keep it to themselves because if they haven't found out yet, I don't care!!

Judging ppl by their appearance, make up,hair,no matter they are right or not..it's excessively uexceptable,I guess it is better to ignore smth if you don't like than protest it.And Different strokes for different folks..we must accept diversity of ppl, there isnt anything weird at all,it depends just on our acceptism of that.if you feel ok about rainbow hair and vampire look make up than there is nothing wrong about it.
