@MirandaH in my opinion I have found Rimmel brand to be a bit clumpy and gritty. I would choose one by one by covergirl for drugstore brand :) but to each their own!! I hope you find one that works for you!

High end: Clinque high impact extreme volume mascara (although I don't notice anything special about the volume) this mascara ALWAYS separates my lashes and makes them very, very long. Very similar to the look wearing false eyelashes give!
Drugstore: the rocket by maybelline. I always go back to this mascara! I like it more than more of my high end ones. It gives volume and length
